The Spirit Vaults, hotel in Loughborough

Situated in Melbourne and within 5.1 km of Donington Park, The Spirit Vaults has a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi.

Ideal location with on street parking. Room was ample in size, with enough storage and well furnished. Food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast (one of the best cooked breakfasts I’ve had in a while). Food cooked to order so a little wait, but worth it. The array of beers produced by the on site micro brewery was impressive and the four we tried between us were all excellent. The dark went particularly well with the excellent beef and Stilton pie.

Castle Hotel by Chef & Brewer Collection, hotel in Loughborough

Originally a 17th-century farmhouse, this hotel sits on the edge of the Leicestershire countryside in the historic village of Kirby Muxloe.

Breakfast was very good. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. One bedside light was not working when we arrived but after we mentioned it, it was fixed the next day. We had dinner in the hotel each night of our stay and the food was very good and again, the service was prompt and friendly.

Clean and comfortable room with great amenities (e.g., Nespresso machine, wireless charger, great shower). Breakfast was fantastic - delicious and high quality food. Staff were all friendly and very efficient check in process. Will return if we are in the area again, and this time will book for dinner too.

We had a wonderful stay at The Peacock Inn which we used as base for attending the Download Festival. The accommodation was what we were expecting and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They replenished towels, coffee and tea upon request (and checked every morning if there was anything else we needed). The accommodation does not offer breakfast, but a local cafe around the corner was just the ticket. We would definitely recommend to stay here.

Sadly dinner was not served on Sunday evening - and the pub down the road stopped serving too. However the breakfast was excellent, fresh and plentiful; the room was spacious with all amenities including a small fridge.
