The cottages are really nice - inside and out. Good to those who came for a conference held in Hinxton conference center. You can go to the conference center just in 5 minutes through the gate. Need to press the button and explain to the security where you are going. The hotel is the only place nearby which serves food, especially in the evenings. Fish and chips was delicious. Breakfast was very nice too.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
The owners were very welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. The evening dinner and breakfast were both wonderful - good, tasty, home cooked food - and our room was lovely, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend The Hole in the Wall to anyone wishing to stay near Cambridge and explore the area.
Our stay in the upstairs studio flat was delightful. The studio was quite large with separate bedroom area, sitting room (which also had a bath on a platform ) and shower room. It was quaint as you would expect in such an old British country pub. We enjoyed dinner there - the food was very tasty and the service very friendly. If you can’t manage stairs, we did notice what looked like ground level accommodation
The character of the property was brilliant. It's history was evident and respected. The interior deco/ design of our room was gorgeous and well crafted. A new shower room was great.
Bed was comfy. Sunday roast dinner was exactly what we needed, and breakfast was nice.
Very helpful, efficient and friendly staff. We hadn't appreciated the early dinner cut-off time on a Sunday but the chef stayed specially to cook us dinner. That level of commitment to guests was shown throughout our stay.
It was very convenient for our Visit to the imperial war museum at Duxford.
The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. The staff were exceptionally helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. We also had dinner, which again was freshly prepared and presented attractively. The room was freshly decorated very stylishly.
Great place 10 minutes from Cambridge. Old building, very nice, but with all needed services and completely renovated keeping the style.
Also good restaurant for breakfast (included) and dinner
This is a wonderful inn. Steeped in history its owners have added a colourful twist with imaginative rooms. Dinner was excellent and the lamb curry a delight of taste and spice. The staff are focused on you enjoying your stay.
