This is the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed in. Our dog was more than welcome and was treated as well as we were, even getting a sausage for his breakfast.
For our evening meal, of special enjoyment was the haggis starter, served with black pudding and a poached egg. It's really lovely and I recommend it.
The landlady was lovely, friendly and welcoming.
Barbon is gorgeous, an all round delight.

Fantastic stay at Masons! What a wonderful pub, and the room/facilities were absolutely great. Superbly comfortable nights stay, and the beer/burger was outstanding! Thanks also to the staff for going above and beyond, and making me a packed lunch for the Yorkshire 3 Peaks chalenge I was completing on day of checkout. So very kind!

Amazing staff who were friendly, polite and extremely helpful. Food was outstanding and the best home made burger we've ever had. Cooked breakfast was definitely one of the best. 5 * reviews all round
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
Breakfast very good with plenty of choices.
Side plates for toast etc would have been helpful as only dinner plates available and not a lot of space on table.
Bedroom and en-suite very clean and comfortable bed.
Tray with Tea / coffee and biscuits in room. Liked the staying in the very old building with original features.
Staff always pleasant and helpful.
Quirky old Inn that creaks and oozes character. On a busy street in the centre of town. Great beers on the bar. Pub food is decent. Great shower and spacious room. Staff were excellent.
Room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and we had a thoroughly good dinner in the hotel as well. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Location was perfect, quaint little town with independent quirky shops, we had a lovely warm welcome from the staff. We had our evening meal and breakfast in The Red Dragon Inn and the food was excellent.
We had a great walk by the river and a stroll around the churchyard.
