Lovely pub/restaurant/hotel in the valley of the racehorse, so strong racing connections as can be seen in all the memorabilia. Excellent and comfy room. Smashing food and very friendly and professional service. Looking forward to next visit.

We spent the night here with an evening meal, we liked the room very much, extremely clean and comfortable. Very nice and well sized en suite water pressure in the shower was very good. Food was fabulous, would recommend the Italian seared rump steak. The bar had plenty of stock, and the wine list was also very good. The Argentinian Malbec was lovely. Location was very rural and quiet.

We had a wonderful stay at The Pelican Inn. We stayed with our little dog and it was super pet-friendly. The staff were excellent and answered any questions I had. The room was spotless and we would absolutely stay again!

The room was very comfortable. We had an evening meal and breakfast the next morning, both were delicious.
The location was perfect, and we enjoyed one of the local walks ( route provided by the Inn )
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Wonderful location and garden between river and canal but the whole place has a rather tired look and our small room was in dire need of redecoration
It was obvious someone had spilt tea or coffee on the skirting
The staff were great.Yhis is the third Butcombe Inn we have stayed at and the menu is very limited and is possibly the same. Good breakfast.
Great location by the river and canal close to railway station but no disturbance form trains, Clean and tidy room. Food was good both dinner and breakfast
We loved that the whole place - pub and rooms - are dog friendly. The decor and furnishing were very comfortable. The setting between the river and canal was delightful! The garden looks gorgeous and we are thinking about returning for an evening out there in the summer.
The food at dinner and breakfast was lovely!
Lovely little pub in a pretty location by the river and canal. Great location for walks. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Our dog was also made very welcome. The rooms were clean, comfy, warm and had everything we needed for a one night stay. We ate dinner and breakfast at The Dundas Arms. Both were excellent. We hope to return.
It’s a quirky place with lovely gardens and outside areas. The bar and restaurant areas are comfortable and welcoming. Our bedroom was very spacious, comfortable and very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts on both mornings were very tasty. We had dinner on our first night and that was very tasty and value for money.
Very pleasant stay, staff were all very nice, breakfast was very good, in our opinion we think the bar prices are very over the top £25 for a bottle of wine that we get in our local Trust Inns pub in Blackpool for £12 exactly the same wine, beers are all cask ales or local brews, but this is maybe a more localised pub for locals, on the evening food menu this again is very over priced for the venue, but overall the staff do make your stay very pleasant,
Room very comfortable. Dinner (roast) and breakfast were both excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.
