The staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and in great condition. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and the cooked breakfast was great too.

This is a delightful character hotel with lots of original features right in the heart of the pretty village of Somerton which had been sympathetically decorated and surprisingly spacious with a courtyard garden.
Although a busy village pub, our room was surprisingly quiet.

It was warm and the staff were excellent, the room was very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely what more could you wish for. We would recommend the Devonshire hotel to family and friends. Looking forward to returning next year.

Smashing village inn set in the English countryside. Accommodations are great and the food is marvelous. Kingsdon is managed by a super couple, Adam and Cinzia. (I hope they get an opportunity to have their own place one day.) Their service commitment is enviable. Stayed one night and planned dinner for 3 people here. Adam (chef) offers a surprising array of food items to choose from. Their kitchen pulls it off. Great presentation. Great flavors. Cinzia (front of house and a master of managing chaos I think :) is so nice. Everyone in my dinner party really enjoyed their dinner and the ambiance. Breakfast next morning was something to behold. I'm glad I changed my mind. I asked if I could have it the next day. Didn't want to live with that regret :) I would definitely like to return again with my wife next time.

Breakfast was pretty good. There could have perhaps been a few more options but its only a small venue. We werent unhappy. The staff were fantastic and the rooms really confortable and well kitted out.

A lovely country pub with great food. The interior of the pub is full of antiquities, and looks great. We stayed over night in one if the rooms across a little courtyard from the main pub. The room was no frills basic but clean, warm and comfortable. Exactly what we needed. Great value for money. The breakfast was a cold Continental one with plenty of food. We ate evening meal, which was delicious. A great range of choices. Staff were very friendly, and always looking to assist. Would recommend

The room we were shown to was like an ice block, the heating system was broken and a window had been left slightly open.
It was quite a fight to get them to offer us another room. Next room was okay but due to the age of the building, movement in the room above at six in the morning was rather disturbing ( creaky floorboards).

This place was an ideal place to stay for one night of our trip to the area. We had dinner and breakfast here and the food was fine. Close to the air museum and the Haynes museum and definitely worth considering for anyone going there
Friendly welcome, nice room and excellent dinner. Nice garden for a predinner drink or a read in our book. Handy stopover on the trip back home from Cornwall. A good shower and a big bathroom. Nice cocktails.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were spot on. Our room had a super-king bed and was very comfortable indeed. More than enough parking out the back too.
My second time staying here (I come for a motorcyle event held annually in Long Sutton) and the Ilchester Arms suits my needs perfectly. So much so that I've returned home this afternoon and immediatly booked again for the event dates next year! Everything is very clean and comfortable and the food in the restaurant, both for dinner and breakfast is excellent.
Just off the A303 the Ilchester arms was a perfect stop for us on our way into Devon. We loved all aspects of the inn, from the welcome to the food. The room was perfectly comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast was superb. We had a very enjoyable walk around Ilchester too, to walk off our meal. A really nice place to stay.
