Bulls Head, Castleton, hotel in Hucklow

Located in Castleton, 16 km from Buxton Opera House, Bulls Head, Castleton provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Staff were all lovely and beautiful rooms, well decorated. In room trays, stocked with high quality teas and coffees. Fresh milk in the rooms with a fridge. Everything worked and was spotless. Fabulous view from room 2. Good choice for evening meals and the pub has a good vibe. Really great place to stay, plenty of car parking space. Very thoughtful additions to the rooms, ear plugs and little vanity sets. Plenty of plug sockets and USB sockets. I think a lot of thought has been put into this hotel. I felt very safe and in good hands. I would love to stay here again.

The bed was very comfortable but the highlight was our waitress in the morning for breakfast. We didn’t catch her name but she was so friendly, kind and attentive. Food was wonderful - both dinner and breakfast.

Location was good, great access for various sights and attractions. Landlord Glyn was awesome; very friendly, open and very informative. Breakfast was fantastic!! Good pint of Guinness and a number of ales on offer. Cracking open fire in the bar/dining room which really belts out the heat!!

The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The room was large with a comfortable bed, a good shower, and tea/coffee making facilities. The dinner was excellent with the best steak I've had in ages and the salmon and scrambled eggs I had for breakfast was also made just right. All portions were very generous. Foolow is a very small hamlet and there are no shops but it is in the centre of some lovely walking territory. There is a bus stop outside with connections to nearby towns and villages as well as Sheffield.
