The Hoops Inn & Country Hotel, hotel in Holsworthy

The Hoops Inn & Country Hotel is a Grade II listed property nestled within unspoiled countryside and 5 minutes’ drive from a scenic coastal walk.

The staff were great - particularly the kind staff member who got me to Clovelly. My room was comfortable but very small with a low ceiling. I was glad to find a small fan in the closet because the room was hot and stuffy even with the window open. The bathroom was small, clean and modern with a lovely bathtub. The lighting in the room and the electrical outlets were exceptionally good.

The George Inn, hotel in Holsworthy

Located in Hatherleigh and with Lydford Castle reachable within 15 miles, The George Inn provides a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar.

Really nice Inn in Hatherleigh. The bedrooms were really excellent. Very large and comfortable bed. Tea and coffee in the room. Great ensuite with nice hot and powerful shower. The decor throughout is excellent and of a high standard. Could leave our bikes locked up securely inside. Had a very good evening meal and a great breakfast. All the staff were so polite and friendly. I really liked the George Inn. We stayed here as it was roughly halfway between Ilfracombe and Plymouth as we were cycling the Devon coast to coast.

Bearslake Inn, hotel in Holsworthy

Set in a charming Devon longhouse dating back to the 13th century, this inn is located between Dartmoor’s Okehampton and Tavistock in the hamlet of Lake.

The place is very pretty and peaceful The room was cute and well equipped. We were warned that there was no sound insulation to the room above and the floorboards might creak. Actually the family upstairs were pretty quiet (and slept in as well) so it wasn't really a problem. The breakfast hamper is a really nice touch, and there's plenty of it. We were in transit and this was a really convenient and pleasant stop off point for us. Dinner was excellent in a lovely dining room.

Loved the location, the sea view from my room, the bright tasteful decor. Surprisingly the TV and Wi-Fi were good. Enjoyed breakfast. Staff were great - particularly the breakfast staff.

We had a wonderful time at Forda. Our cottage was clean and light. The owner Val went out of her way to look after us. Home baked scones on arrival was very appreciated. Full English breakfast was cooked to perfection each morning. We also had a roast dinner on Sunday evening it was lovely and homemade Bakewell tart for dessert was delicious. Val is a very cheerful lady and nothing is too much trouble. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.
