A very comfortable room, clean, modern and sumptuous bathroom.
Restaurant and breakfast were very good.
Friendly staff.
Detail: we are backpacking, after a long day hiking one cannot have enough hooks to hang clothes on; we have never seen so many hooks.
Location is very beautiful, near e.g. the Stour Valley Path and the unique "Devil's Dyke" footpath.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
I loved staying here. Hawkedon is such a beautiful place - amazing views and skies. A great pub with a lovely menu and few minutes walk away so very convenient dinner option. The annexe itself is cozy, well appointed and very comfortable. I was warmly welcomed, parking is easy and the location is in good reach of Bury St Edmunds.
Amazing find! Stayed for a wedding in the area, and the room (more like suite) was lovely. Huge kitchen to use, amazing comfy bed with a gorgeous view of the fields, and lots of space. The pub even left us a hamper full of goodies to use whilst there, with fresh cakes and bread etc. The staff were lovely, and they even kept the kitchen open for us for dinner on arrival when we hit bad traffic. Highly recommend!
