Tastefully decorated lovely country pub (drinking only, no food) in a pretty village. A larger pub close by serves food, so no need to drive anywhere else to eat. Generous provision of cold breakfast comestibles in room. Very comfortable bed. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to help me with preparations I had to make for the following day.
The Bull has been a coaching inn in the Essex village of Halstead for 500 years. This traditional pub offers rooms with free Wi-Fi, a lively bar and home-cooked food.

Friendly helpful staff.
Excellent breakfast and sandwich lunch. Would have had our evening meal there too, but we already had other plans.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Great stay!! Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Had dinner in the bar on night of arrival and was very good. Breakfast both mornings was great with plenty of choice. Room was very comfortable.

Lovely 15th-building with excellent restaurant andfantastic wine card with exquisite French and italian wines , external garden for outside drinks or meal. Staff is distinguished and proactive. to recommend to all visitors loving the typical British character. at the breakfast, poched eggs with smoked salmon is a must. The young manager or owner has a fantastic inn.
I had a few drinks in the beer garden which was very pleasant except the cigarette smoke I had wofting over me constantly from the party next to me but that's one of those things I guess. The beer was good and the dinner I had was lovely too, thoroughly recommend it.
As for breakfast, I also enjoyed it although it was delivered in a bit of a hap hazard way with the cooked breakfast arriving before the yoghurt I ordered too but the food was all good.
