The Crown and Punchbowl is a quintessential country B&B. Ample parking, a cozy pub, elegant dining and smartly furnished rooms. We felt very well taken care of. Although it is quite far from the center of Cambridge, not to worry. There is a park and ride just a few miles away which is a much better alternative to driving into the city center congestion.
The Lord Byron Inn is a charming pub that dates back to the 17th century. It has a restaurant, free Wi-Fi, and offers guest accommodations just over 2 miles south of Cambridge city center.

The staff could not do enough for us. Particularly Sid who even fixed our TV on Christmas day. We stayed over Christmas and the food was amazing. Everything was done to make sure we had a brilliant stay.
The Earl of Derby offers rooms with attached bathroom and is just a 5-minute walk from Cambridge Train Station. With free parking the Earl is 1312 feet from the Botanic Gardens.

Detail: we are backpacking, after a long day hiking one cannot have enough hooks to hang clothes on; we have never seen so many hooks.
Location is very beautiful, near e.g. the Stour Valley Path and the unique "Devil's Dyke" footpath.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
The whole experience was exceptionally good. Staff were so helpful, food at dinner and breakfast was very good, the pub and garden are beautifully put together. Bedding and towels were quality. And the coffee pod machine in the room was a nice touch.
My father stayed there for one night as he was helping me with my move to Cambridge. The restaurant for the dinner was very good.
