All the food was superb. We ate breakfast on two days and dined there on one evening. Staff were very friendly and it is a beautiful location, especially the beer garden with the views.

We didn't eat here but was dog friendly, staff interaction was good. Location was beautiful! Mattress very thin and uncomfortable, plus very very soft pillows, was 2 single beds pushed together with a king sheet and duvet. But the pod was really lovely, very clean, 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel provided, had a heater in which we didn't need on for long as it warmed the pod very quickly! Wonderful night away, just a shame about the bed comfort. Would recommend though.

Bed comfortable. Loved the pillows! Food very good. Loved that the cooked Breakfast was Served, rather than buffet style. Staff all Lovely, Friendly and Efficient. Tea, Coffee, Biscuits & Cool Water in the room. Room to lay out all my bits in the bathroom :-) & car parking on site. Oh, and the Welcome Brochure was the best I've ever come across .... and we travel quite a lot!

We arrived 10 minutes after the kitchen closed but nothing was too much trouble and we enjoyed a lovely meal of scampi and homemade chips, the room was lovely and the bed was fantastically huge and comfortable

Wonderful location, great atmospheric pub with friendly staff and fantastic food.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
The Royal Oak is clearly the hub of the village as when we arrived the bar was buzzing with locals- always a good sign!
Staff were fabulously helpful and friendly and both dinner and breakfast were absolutely superb.
Room was clean and comfortable and had everything you needed.
The staff were very accommodating of my late arrival. The food in the restaurant was seasonal and absolutely spot on. The rooms were very comfortable & very clean. The breakfast was as good as the dinner the night before.
A special mention to the chef who, in addition to the standard dinner menu, prepared some excellent daily specials. We liked the relaxed, friendly atmosphere at the Royal Oak.
Its a very small town. It has nothing else except this unique local hotel. Most local people seem to work here or have an economic link to this place. The rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast is an experience and unique. The dinner menu’s are a true delight. The kitchen chef is a master. We ate here for two nights because we were exited about the first diner. The local nature park is a true beauty. Go and see!
We liked the attention to detail, the generosity and the welcome. We felt that the Royal Oak really wanted to look after us. There was plenty of tea and coffee on the hospitality tray...and biscuits and water. There were toiletries in the bathroom. The shower was powerful and hot. The breakfast was excellent...generous portions and good quality. Dinner was also excellent...plenty of fresh veg served with the meal. The location is gorgeous..we went for an 8 mile circular walk from the village before dinner.
Breakfast good and dinner excellent ( don’t forget to book)room ok except stairs
