Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
The staff were engaging and helpful. The building is beautiful and is in a beautiful location. The food ( dinner and breakfast) was excellent. The room was large, light and airy. It was also very quiet.
Did not have breakfast but had evening meal which was delicious. Staff so helpful gave us bucket of ice and flute glasses for our room as it was my birthday even chilled my Prosecco in their fridge whilst we enjoyed a drink outside in the sun. lovely area outside to enjoy the open surroundings. lovely comfy bed had a great stay and will be back here in the future. Would definitely recommend the Salmon Inn.
Sheena was extremely friendly and helpful, giving us hints for places to see and to go to for dinner. It was lovely having our own separate living room. Also a washing machine. We didn't need it as our holiday had only just started, but really useful.
The night in Galashiels at Dalvy's house was absolutely wonderful. Dalvy is really nice. I still remember the dinner he made for me, and our pleasant chat in his lovely kitchen. His hosting is the best experience I have ever had. The best accommodation in Galashiels, period.
The hotel was beautiful. I suspect it was once someone's home and is just gorgeous. I loved the old furniture and fittings that were in keeping with the age of the property. My ensuite was fabulous. I stayed in the Scott suite and would go again in a heartbeat. The food was great both dinner and breakfast.
we were attending a car club Xmas dinner, a party of 50 for dinner, the food, the staff , the service was absolutely faultless, impeccable, a thoroughly brilliant evening, we retired to our room late!!,our room, 20, is at the top of the hotel with spectacular views. The room was immaculate, with everything working as it should. Breakfast was a leisurely affair, with the same brilliant service once more, breakfast choices were excellent and high quality
Lovely hotel if a little tired looking in places. The location was a little bit of a surprise being behind a small housing estate but clearly signposted. The entrance hall was in need of some attention in that the floor actually moved under our feet as we walked across it to the reception desk.
The staff were exceedingly welcoming and helpful and the room was large, well equipped and comfortable.
Food was good and varied, both at breakfast and dinner, with a choice of eating in the conservatory or the bar.
