The Wheatsheaf Combe Hay, hotel in Frome

Just 4 miles from Bath, The Wheatsheaf Combe Hay is a West Country inn dating back to the 1500s.

The staff couldn’t be more helpful, we got stuck in bath due to snow and a taxi wanted to charge us £67 to drive 10 minutes, the owners of the Wheatsheaf offered instead to pick us them selves for next to no money, an outstanding little pub and hotel that I would happily go back to again and again.

The Holcombe, hotel in Frome

This 17th century Grade II listed building, takes its name from the village in which it is situated, and is packed with original features and interesting nooks and crannies.

Lovely place to stay. Very inviting and welcoming from check in to check out. We stayed there because of attending an event at Shepton Mallet Prison, so location was perfect, only 10 mins or so away. Room was very warm and inviting on a winters evening with lovely hand made cookies waiting for us. breakfast was a delight especially the homemade Jam 😋 the restaurant staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. highly recommended for a lovely meal and secluded get away.

The Inn was really cosy and spotlessly clean. Our bedroom had everything you could need and was also spotlessly clean. Toiletries, coffee/tea/juice/water/milk and biscuits were provided and the room was equipped with a fridge, fan, iron and hairdryer. The breakfast was superb, as was our evening meal and the staff were lovely, helpful and friendly, especially Eve. We really enjoyed our stay and will be returning! Thank you.

The hotel room was on the cosy side, however very clean and a the bed extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinners on both days of our stay. The food was of a high standard. The staff were very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The private locked parking area was an unexpected bonus providing a safe place for our car, rather than being left in a public space.

Character property in a great location in the centre of Frome. We loved the decor and furnishings which were in keeping with the style of the property and had everything we needed in the room for a comfortable stay and there were some nice touches like a cafetiere with sachets of freshly ground coffee and a flask, so that you could collect fresh milk from the bar. Everything was very eco friendly. Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Had a lovely dinner in the hotel bar. Very dog friendly too.

This was a beautiful inn, very warm and rustic with a beautiful fire downstairs in the bar. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately my daughter was ill while we travelled and they could do enough to make sure that she was ok and comfortable. I have to make a special mention of the food which was absolutely beautiful! Considering how nice it was I found this place very good value for money

Historic Inn conveniently located in Frome. Archangel has been nicely restored and has good rooms, good food and good cider. The room we had in the upper levels was splendid. The large bath was great for a cool soak after a hot day's cycling. The pub food was good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We'd go back to Archangel if visiting Frome again.
