From the minute we arrived to the minute we left there was a warm inviting atmosphere. The owners and staff were lovely..
The room was well decorated and spotlessly clean. We had all the facilities we required. The bed was comfortable which added to having a good night's sleep.
We eat there on both nights as the food was of such good quality and staff were very efficient and friendly.

Breakfast items were plentifully provided in each room, where the continental breakfast was self-prepared. A table and two chairs were in each room. Cereals, juice, milk, tea/coffe, fruit, bread, croisants and jams provided. Very enjoyable and relaxing.

Loved the rural location and village. Some nice room touches, like robes + good selection of teas, and fresh milk. The bed was super comfortable and the power shower very efficient. Lorraine, the owner, is friendly and helpful. General ambience in bar and dining areas is very good; the food and service excellent. After feeling some uncertainty on arrival we left with every intention of returning.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
The food was really good, the beds were the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. The staff were all lovely and the atmosphere of the pub is cosy and rustic. I would definitely stay again.
Perfect location for my friend and I to meet as it's halfway between us both. Dinner was lovely. Room was great - but we've been before so knew what to expect. Breakfast also lovely
Picturesque village location (made the more so with an overnight snowfall) with comfortable rooms in a lovely country pub. Good pub grub for dinner and a quality English breakfast in the morning.
Great overnight stop over in this charming country inn. Personal service that is lacking in the big chain budget hotels. Excellent menu choice and quality of food. Fresh cooked breakfast to order.
Friendly and personalabke host. Easy to get to. Parking on site.
The owners of The Boot & Shoe, and all the staff, were absolutely lovely, very friendly and went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. It's a lovely little place, a friendly pub in a beautiful village, with a gorgeous tented seating area out the back. We had dinner when we arrived, which was superb, and breakfast was excellent.
