The Appleby Inn Hotel, hotel in Fazeley

Located just 1-mile from the M42 motorway, The Appleby Inn Hotel is set in rural Derbyshire in the village of Appleby Parva.

The food was excellent, 1st class. The only criticism is that the portions were far too large and did not leave any room for a dessert, which looked great from what I saw other people having.

Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and kind, food was excellent and home cooked. Beds were very comfortable and the Inn was walking distance from Drayton Manor. The walk is do-able, because there are pavements all the way.

The Fazeley Inn has had a lot of negative press and I really wasn't sure what to expect however, our room was clean and tidy, it was quiet, there's someone on site at all times, the staff were great and really friendly, breakfast was cheap and plentiful and tasted brilliant. The room was spacious and I would say that if you're looking for somewhere on a budget, this is the place! Stayed for bloodstock which is about a 30 minute taxi ride away and I'm looking forward to our stay next year already!

Room was clean and tidy with TV & provided with towels and soap. Mattress a little tired. Kettle, tea & coffee available on request. Evening meal menu limited but well cooked and value for money. Likewise for breakfast. We were informed you could bring a takeaway into the inn once the kitchen was closed. Helpful staff although rather noisy clientele in the evening.
