The Anchor Inn, hotel in Dunoon

"The Anchor Inn was a traditional Drovers Inn dating back to 1888. Over recent years, it has undergone tasteful modernisation and now boasts a nautical-themed bar and restaurant area with hearty food...

We got the room with the ocean view, which was new and very comfy. The weather was cold (August 2024), but we had heated room in the morning. People were extremely friendly, polite and accommodating (we arrived later than expected and they stayed longer to make us dinner). There is small store beside having all kind of food to go. Very convenient for travelers.

Lovely guest house in a beautiful location. Stayed in Bute bedroom on the top floor which looked out over the water. Gorgeous view, room small but perfectly formed and very clean. Breakfast was delicious, great porridge. We only stayed one night but will come back and stay for longer next time.

We love the surroundings of the Whistlefield Inn and the property itself. It’s cosy and rustic like an old Scottish tavern but with a modern flair.

Had a great stay in this historic inn, beautiful surroundings, lovely big room with a stunning view over the loch from the comfort of lying in your bed. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant and a well cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
