Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
There was off street parking available. While Dumfries Villa is an old building - the room was clean and comfortable. The location was good - to where we could walk to a good pub for dinner. The breakfast was freshly cooked and lovely. The staff were helpful & polite. So overall a good experience.
The family who run the hotel are very friendly and accommodating. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were very good and good value for money.
The hotel was a great base for exploring the Dumfries and Galloway area, and a great place to rest and recuperate if you have been doing a lot of travelling. The dinner menu was excellent.
The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was excellent.
The food at dinner was excellent and great value for money. Breakfast was also good with eggs done exactly as we asked for
welcome at the hotel was very friendly, and overall, staff were exceptional - very positive and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant which was absolutely great (the desserts were awesome) and overall, a very nice and pleasant experience.
The situation was lovely, situated in beautifully maintained parkland and very quiet. The room was lovely, a good size with opening though secure windows, a big comfortable bed, 2 cosy armchairs, lots of hanging/storage space and a nice bathroom. Very relaxing.
And the dinner was sensational, with lots of choice for my coeliac husband, nice wine by the glass, and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was good too.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful
