Black Bull Gartmore, hotel in Drymen

Set in Stirling, 12 km from Lake of Menteith, Black Bull Gartmore offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar.

This Community owned Hotel was really great. In particular the friendliness of all the staff! Also the very high standard of the food during the afternoon and evening- all of which was extremely reasonably priced.

The Inn at Kippen, hotel in Drymen

The Inn at Kippen features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Kippen. Built in 18th century, this 3-star inn is within 10 km of Lake of Menteith and 34 km of Mugdock Country Park.

Super friendly staff, in the words of my 10 year old, even if it wasn't a 5 star hotel, it was 5 star service. 😀 The food was delicious, again a hit with my son who thought his chicken strips were the best he'd tasted. Gluten-free options were also good, which is essential for me as I'm coeliac. Would definitely stay again.

Kirkhouse Inn, hotel in Drymen

Situated in Milngavie, 5.9 km from Mugdock Country Park, Kirkhouse Inn has a number of amenities including a shared lounge, a restaurant and a bar.

I didn't have breakfast, however the evening meal was fantastic and in my opinion value for money, as for the service and attitude of the staff I couldn't praise them enough, I find with most hotel staff they are being nice to you because they have too, with the staff at Kirkhouse they were genuinely friendly and courteous at all times

Very busy with your groups, décor rather dated, staff in end of season exhaustiont appeared. Food disappointing, ear at the inn instead.

Location was excellent for where we needed to be and our host offered to book us an evening meal at the Clachan Inn. Again, the evening meal was excellent.

The public areas were very smart and private areas acceptable. The evening waiting staff and dinner were excellent. We enjoyed the leisure suite and the pool was lovely and warm.

Pretty hotel in a great location overlooking the square. Excellent dinner in the restaurant with super service. Single room was small but functional but might not suit a larger person (tiny bathroom and low ceiling). My second stay here and would recommend - previously in a modern wing of the hotel.

Lovely little Inn. Both rooms were very comfy and we liked the shared balcony. Had dinner in the Inn, which was delicious. Staff all very helpful. Great location for our travels to the Highlands. Lovely cafes in the village too.

Fabulous little guesthouse in centre of Drymen. Room was lovely decorated and just what we wanted. We had dinner and breakfast in Drymen Inn which is associated with the property. Food was great. Fresh and lots of it. Would highly recommend these two establishments.

We stayed at Braeside on the first night of our walk on the West Highland Way. This guest house is well situated in the centre of Drymen. It was warm, very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast at the Drymen Inn was also excellent. The owner of Braeside was extremely friendly and helpful and she had loads of local knowledge.
