While a hotel like this is expected to be old, it was not a “run down” kind of old, but clean and charming. The classic breakfast (can’t remember what it was called) was first rate.

Old Hunters Lodge, hotel in Drayton Parslow

Located in Whipsnade, 11 miles from Woburn Abbey, Old Hunters Lodge provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

It was so nice to be able to sit outside at one of the tables in the garden and enjoy the setting sun with supper. Breakfast was spectacular and prepared at the moment. We were not bothered by noise at night even though there is an adjoined pub. Perhaps that depends on the particular day of the week. The hosts were so friendly and went out of their way to help. The location requires dexterity to reach form Luton. We suggest a taxi from Luton airport if you don;t have a car.

Good pub food for the dinner. Breakfast was excellent - freshly cooked and very tasty. I booked a single room without en-suite. Shower room was just across the corridor and toilet close. Didn't see anyone else using facilities during my stay so this was no problem. People really helpful.
