The room is a very high standard and is lovely and cosy. This was a work trip so it’s difficult to comment on the location for leisure but it was nice and peaceful.

Breakfast was good and the food good quality. The menu for the evening was varied and again good quality. The place was immaculate throughout. Car parking was good and at no extra cost. Fairly priced.

The property was clean with good on site restaurant and good selection of food. The staff were very friendly and dealt with everything very well. It’s worth noting that this isn’t for anyone disabled as there are only stairs to the rooms. Good size car park had no problem parking.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, dinner and breakfast were excellent, lovely building, great location in the centre of Cockermouth. Would definitely stay here again.
Friendly welcoming staff, clean and well maintained environment - superb breakfast cooked to order. Dinner was also lovely beautifully cooked and presented.
Breakfast and dinner were excellent, almost too much food. The staff were tremendous, very friendly and caring. The overall look of the building was really nice
Receptionist/Bar man/Head waiter was worked off his feet and was holding the place together.
Food was excellent.(Dinner and breakfast)
Room for very comfortable and spacious.
Room was very quiet, breakfast was good, breakfast staff Sue and Allison were excellent and a real plus to your hotel as was Dixon who is part of your dinner staff. The room cleaning staff were also excellent and had a great service attitude.
I have to say the food, breakfast and dinner were as good as i have ever had and they gave you plenty of it, the deserts were also very good and a nice helping as well, all the breakfast you could eat and for some too much, all in all i would have no problem going back to this hotel.
My Friday evening dinner was delicious, each course being very tasty. On Saturday I was treated to a complimentary morning coffee in the garden, later finding out the gentleman offering it to me was the owner, so I was able to pass on my compliments regarding the evening meal I had enjoyed.
Bears lodge was lovely. The lodge was lovely and clean, facilities were good too. Area cockermouth was easy to get to plenty of shops. Pubs were lovely too, the grey hound Inn was beautiful, food tasty too.
