This was likely my favourite stay anywhere… ever! If you have ever seen the film The Holiday, you will feel like you’ve been transported there! Everything about The Falkland Arms is perfection. The location, view, aesthetics, drinks, vibes, pub, breakfast, bedroom, bathroom. I could go on..
There was a folk band that happened to be playing the night of my stay and they brought the loveliest vibe. I will return specifically to hear them soon!!

Comfy, well appointed room. Nice bathroom. Good breakfasts. Plenty of vegetarian alternatives on dinner menu. Lots of parking. Safe location. Golf course on site.
The Lydgate was a lovely room with interesting pictures and outlook and an en suite bathroom. The bed was very wide. The second pillow could have been softer/thinner and thel ventilation fan in the bathroom a little less disruptive of a night's sleep but these are minutiae.
The evening meal was excellent. The breakfast (different team?) was somewhat tired and overcooked- we felt it was hanging around in the kitchen before being served.
Convenient and gorgeous location
Easy check in and host messaged to check everything was ok
Bedrooms were lovely and clean as were the towels and sheets etc
Sociable dinning area
Welcome basket with eggs, bread etc was a lovely touch & appreciated
There were a lot of us and we all enjoyed staying in the cottage - great value for money but probably better suited to 6 people or less
Super friendly staff, great atmosphere and full of customers when we arrived which is always a good sign! And because we were arriving late, we rang ahead and were able to book dinner which they made for us when we arrived 👌🏻
The food was excellent!
Lovely room, and free beer and water in room!!
Top stay for a pub!
Must reiterate how refreshing it was to be served by such thoughtful and enthusiastic staff!!
