Quaint historic inn with modern bedroom amenities. Ground floor pub maintains the old feel. Many locals eating there. Food was exceptional quality and menu offers more than just basic pub fare. Bedrooms and ensuite were comfortable and provided plenty of space. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and offered many traditional scottish choices. Located in a small quiet village with a short, easy drive to Stirling city center. Definitely would use again.

Perfect stop for walking the west highland way. A nice, clean room with detached bathroom. Everything you’d need for the night
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO SAY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEWHERE AFFORDABLE TO STAY, WITH SELF CATERING OPTIONS IN THE HEART OF CALLANDER. THE RIVER IS ALL OF A FEW MINUTES AWAY AS IS AN AWARD WINNING BAKERY/ CAFE AND MUCH MORE BESIDES. YOU CAN EVEN DO WHAT WE DID AND WALK DOOR TO DOOR FROM THE HOSTEL TO THE SUMMIT OF BENI LEDI - MAKING FOR AN ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC DAY.
Lovely bright spacious room. Very quiet. Excellent tea tray with plenty t-bags and milk etc, as well as chocolate biscuits. Also bottles of water provided. Room has everything you need. Hairdryer next to full length mirror which is great for getting ready, as a lot of rooms do not have a decent mirror. Continental breakfast was also provided with a good choice of items. Dinner at hotel was also excellent. Smaller meal options were available which was great and more than ample and very reasonably priced.
Hotel in on the main street in Callander, so a good location for shops etc. Room was at the side, so no real traffic noise.
Good sized bathroom and large shower. Had dinner in the bistro downstairs and it was excellent - both the food and service. Ditto breakfast - hot food to order, which meant my veg omelette was fresh and a good start to my day.
The house is in the center of town. We stayed three nights and had great dinners nearby (Gregg’s was best). On-street parking was fine. The area and house were both quiet at night. House itself is exactly what you expect for a vintage B&B. Well decorated and outfitted, comfortable, and sometimes quirky. The hosts and their breakfasts make the experience outstanding. We would have been quite happy to stay longer.
We loved everything at Knowe Guest House. Our room was great and had amazing views over the surrounding area, the property was perfectly located (only a couple of minutes walk to the main street and bordering on some beautiful native woodland behind), the breakfast was great and the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful.
The breakfasts were truly excellent and our room although small was very comfortable. Our room, toilet, shower , towels, linen were all immaculately clean.
Francesca and Stefano who own the Lubnaig Guest House were a delightful couple and gave us great service. The evening before we left we decided to have dinner there and what a lovely meal we had !!!!!!!.
We would highly recommend this guest house.
