Ok so I read the reviews and it sounded like a bit of a mixed bag but I booked last minute, the cost was very reasonable and I was travelling alone and would be out all day and most evenings with work anyway so thought I had nothing to lose and can happily say my concerns were entirely unfounded and I’d happily stay here again and recommend to others. I stayed three nights in room 4 and everything worked, nothing was broken, everything was clean as you’d hope for. Room 4 is a very decent sized (for Clifton) en suite with a large bed, plenty of room to mover around and very comfortable. OK, the access stairs are definitely ‘back of house’ but really who cares and you can come and go easily 24 hrs as required. Staff at the tavern were courteous, friendly and efficient (this is an excellent pub and working theatre btw, well worth popping in for a pint or catching a show if it fits your plans). There’s no breakfast service as such but there is tea and coffee and plenty of fridge space should you want to use it. The management company, Hopewell, do send rather a lot of emails but this is obviously automated and as I booked almost en route they arrived in one tranche but it had all the info I needed for a smooth arrival and checkin. The one slightly bizarre thing is the £150 credit card deposit which I can confirm I was charged, but it’s disappeared from my credit card today, 2 working days after check out. I can see that this is a bit unusual and held back my review to see if this would indeed be refunded quickly and in full and it has so I guess no real problem if somewhat atypical.

The location is fantastic and the staff are brilliant and always helpful
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Jake was a great communicator and replied to my questions promptly. The property is so close to Bristol Temple Meads train station. And easy to walk into Bristol from the apartment.
The No. 8 bus is a great bus and goes from Bristol Temple Meads station through town to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. The burgers at the Stag and Hounds were delicious. Dinner in Grano Italian restaurant was also great. A super weekend in Bristol. Thank you.
Dinner was very nice, albeit rather expensive. Breakfast was. Excellent. Bed very comfortable indeed and the views of Clifton Suspension Bridge superb.
This hotel is located in an unrivalled position and the attention and service we received during our stay was exemplary. We had a wonderful dinner overlooking the gorge and the Clifton Suspension Bridge as the sun went down. Breakfast the next day was really good too. Our room was super comfortable with a fabulous view. Thank you for a perfect stay.
Good sized room and well equipped bathroom, all nicely decorated, with great view of the suspension bridge. Excellent dinner at the restaurant. Nice bar with a good range of cocktails. Good position for nearby shops and restaurants.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all tasty and good value for money. Good to see young cheerful hardworking students in employment whilst completing their studies. The location is great. Literally next to the suspension bridge. Advisable to use the Sion Hill BS8 4BA post code to locate the hotel itself if driving else it keeps stopping in the Hotwell Road location which is the back of the hotel! Beds and pillows are very comfortable. There is free parking on the streets around but not in front of the hotel. A bit pricy but worth it.
Wonderful stay at Hotel du Vin Avon Gorge. Highly recommend a balcony room with a spectacular view of the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Wonderfully comfortable bed. Fabulous dinner in the restaurant with views of the illuminated Clifton Suspension Bridge. Great food & great service.
We had a room with a view of the Clifton suspension Bridge. The room was acceptably large and had a view, and the shower was exceptionally good. It was a long walk to the room and included changes of level in quite dark corridors.
The dinner and breakfast were both very good in terms of quality, quantity and helpfulness of the staff.
There was a very large terrace which was used by both hotel visitors and others, that added a bit of atmosphere in the evening.
