the olive tree bistro, hotel in Fakenham

The olive tree bistro has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Fakenham. The property is around 14 miles from Blickling Hall, 9.5 miles from Blakeney Point and 12 miles from Holkham Hall.

The location was perfect, as we were seeing the Christmas Spectacular show, and it was around an easy 10 minute drive away. Nice rural surrounding area. Parking was good and secure. The breakfast was nice and delivered at a time to suit. We dined in the Bistro, on the day of arrival, and the food was very good. Would definitely return and recommend.

Staff were superb . Bar seating arrangements good maintaining a good balance between being an inn and a restaurant. The renovation work was excellent retaining the character of the building.

Stayed here with my wife before Christmas for a night and it was lovely. Great, quiet location, with plenty of parking. The pub staff were very welcoming and we couldn’t have been happier with our room. Great size, comfy bed, lovely en-suite with roll top bath. We didn’t have the opportunity to have dinner unfortunately but breakfast was very nice. Definitely recommend staying here!

Lovely pub very ambient. Would like to see the fire lit as you walk in. Nothing bleaker than an empty hearth on a cold wet day. Really enjoyed our dinner, but it was just huge! A bit too much for us,but in saying that 100% times better than some of the minuscule meals we have been served ,while dining out recently. Our room was nice, and a lovely bathroom, but it would be nice to have had some side lamps for a more cosy feel.

Homely, cosy, excellent food (except last breakfast - see below). Staff friendly and very professional. Bed excellent and room lovely. Complementary bottle of 🍾 was a nice touch on New Years Eve. Great location for our needs, near to all the places you may want to visit. Meals in the restaurant were exceptional, innovative and expertly executed. Top marks to the chef. Good choice for breakfast and an excellent full English.
