The room was much bigger, much cleaner, and much more comfortable than we were expecting.
The staff were exceptionally polite and friendly, when calling to sort out arrival times, when showing us to our room, despite the pub downstairs being busy, and helping us with anything we needed.
We arrived too late to eat in the restaurant, but the menu looked excellent, and the atmosphere in the pub was wonderful.

The food at the Running Horses is always excellent, and it's a great place for a quiet getaway for a night or 2.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Excellent customer service from the lady who checked us in and looked after us during our dinner reservation.
Food was really good, big portions and value for money
Room 2 was a lovely room. well equipped.
Cooked breakfast was very good. Croissants not good - stodgy and not heated through.. Wold have been nice to have fruit such as strawberries or fresh fruit salad for Continental breakfast.
Didn't have dinner
A beautiful 400 year old inn with modern facilities. Great pub with loads of guest beers and excellent food. Hours could be spent just looking around at all the pictures and stuff that has been collected over many many years.
Rooms were good and spotlessy clean
Booked room only But breakfast was very reasonable at 8.50 GBP Continental and 12.50 full English which was huge.. Pub Menu was great for dinner and great publican and staff
Was a great little inn and pub. Would stay again. Sue was friendly and made a really great breakfast. Beds were comfortable to sleep in. Great little town and place to base from.
The Guinness is exactly how it should be, served at cellar temperature, no silly coolers, as good as you can get outside of Ireland. Room was pleasant. Breakfast was Excellent.
The room was excellent, clean, tidy, well laid out, Very good shower with good water pressure. I had dinner which was also very good.
