Lovely local pub and lovely friendly staff Mike and Belinda! My room was spacious and very comfortable and clean! The bed was very comfortable! I was made very welcome and would definitely stay here again! And to meet May a lovely local lady who knew my older family members and was good friends with them and had lovely heat warming memories of them was a bonus and joy to hear her memories and chat with her! x

Red Lion Rooms - Self Check In, hotel in Barrow in Furness

Set in Dalton in Furness, 35 km from World of Beatrix Potter, Red Lion Rooms - Self Check In offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The inn features family rooms.

Easy check in. Competitive price. Loved the breakfast in the room - cereal, milk, fresh orange juice, yoghurt. Loved the communal area where you could have a selection of drinks from the machine ( with biscuits ) . Lots of very vocal guests in the bar - well it was a Friday night : ) but never heard a sound even though our room was looking onto the main road ( and I'm a light sleeper ) .

Modern decor, comfortable and clean. Dinner in Oscars was lovely. Absolutely must visit Furness Abbey which is not even 5 minutes walk away, it’s beautiful and a nice space for a walk around - I reckon the hotel should set up a cheeky entrance discount?

I must thank the staff from John who greeted us and helped with our luggage,Summer who served our dinner and was so lovely and helpful to JT who went above and beyond the next morning when my husband was unfortunately very poorly. The hotel itself is very clean and accessible for disabled people. The food was really great and we hopefully will be able to go back again in the future.

What can I say, the whole experience was exceptional. Breakfast was plentiful. Dinner was delicious. The staff were attentive and made me feel like they were working just for me, particularly the staff at breakfast and dinner. It was lovely to have a bit of interaction and a laugh or two. The grounds were sensational and the walk to the abbey was magnificent. The checking in and out process was seamless. I cannot recommend high enough. So glad it was available.
