The Sun Inn At Hook Norton, hotel in Banbury

Good location, picturesque village. Very friendly staff, they were busy but still had time for us. The room was small but very clean. The bed was hard, but comfy. The tv worked, and the free WiFi worked well with no issues. The food in the restaurant looked good. My partner said it was delicious. The drinks on offer were good and reasonably priced, especially the local ales. The facilities in the room were OK,there were breakfast items, lots of different tea bags, a couple of coffee sachets, and some juice boxes. Local bottled water was a nice touch. The breakfast menu is mostly cooked, with various egg dishes and full English, no cold or lite options. Starts at 9am for residents. Dog friendly pub. Lovely garden area at the rear.

Horse and Groom Inn, hotel in Banbury

We didn't have Breakfast as we were heading off early to get to the Grand Prix. The staff were exceptional. They were super friendly and you could tell that they had a great place in the community. They were showing the England match in the bar, and even organised a fun competition to see if anyone could guess the full time score. We ordered some food that we had at the bar. It was tasty, good value and arrived quickly. We couldn't get the TV to work in the room and so we were quickly moved to another room without any problems. The room was right above the bar and so it was a little noisy, but it was clean and comfortable.

We were disappointed that there was no longer afternoon tea, dinner, or a licensed bar as shown on some websites; when we mentioned this we felt the landlady was offended The daily room servicing did not include making the bed, just the duvet pulled up over the unkempt sheet The room and bathroom were clean and there was plenty of tea and coffee A lovely guest house if a little tired, and very convenient for visiting the Cotswolds

Delightful stone and thatched Inn an attractive Cotswold village with very good evening meal. The pleasant Greek landlord has introduced the Taverna style to a classic English country pub with great success.
