This is a lovely down to earth pub with a convivial atmosphere. The rooms, in a modern annexe, are basic but very comfortable whilst the food is excellent home cooked with a well thought out menu. The hosts were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
We stayed in the starling hut and it was absolutely beautiful! The place was spotless clean, with everything you could think of and a bunch of additional ‘going the extra mile’ you wouldnt think off provided by our wonderful host, Nicky. We could not thank Nicky enough for making my birthday treat so special. My husband and I have pretty high standards when we stay away and they were truly exceeded. Winnie our dog loved every moment of it and the focus Nicky puts in to making your fur babes stay is amazing. Thank you so much, we will be back!
Didn't have breakfast as my husband and I usually only have yoghurt and cereal, small appetites! As I am a lady of a certain age a hand rail would have helped in the shower. The Castle Inn was very well cared for and the staff very friendly. Thank you to everyone.
The Chapmans.
The location of the Tannery Gardens in Bakewell was perfect. So quiet and relaxing. Good parking, lovely hosts and such easy access to the room. The breakfast was perfect, just what we wanted, a short walk to the guest house serving it.
The Ashford Arms is in a beautiful location and is well equipped with lovely furnishings throughout. The staff from reception to restaurant were all super helpful. The room was lovely with a super shower. The food at breakfast and dinner was of a very high quality.
Beautiful location for visiting the Peak District. Close to the Monsal Track, Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Bakewell. Pretty, quiet little village with friendly locals and some good pubs nearby (Packhorse Inn is definitely worth the walk). Property was well equipped and comfortable - it felt like home! We had a small issue with the heating when we arrived, but Sykes (hosts) were very responsive, and we managed to solve the problem (it was simply a loose battery on the controller!).
