We stayed for my husbands birthday as he’s quite the Topgear/Grand Tour fan. It’s a beautiful pub and the room was gorgeous, we were told we had been upgraded on arrival and stayed in Win Green. Lovely big room with en-suite and a very comfortable bed! We had dinner and enjoyed the chateaubriand steak platter for two which was cooked to perfection! The staff were all lovely from checking in, to dinner, to breakfast in the morning which was also amazing. Definitely recommend and will be back again.

Warm welcome from staff to a lovely homely pub/hotel, lovely room with plenty of space and a comfy bed. The food (dinner and breakfast) was fantastic. Oh and the homemade cookies on arrival were great. Excellent value for money.

Good location friendly staff and delicious Gurkha food.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Comfortable and spacious rooms with English charm. The food was amazing! We checked in after the last orders for dinner, but the chef and staff were so kind and offered us bread slates and chips (fries) to eat. The breakfast was wonderful. We enjoyed every bit of this property.
The complimentary breakfast was fantastic. Great service with every change to a breakfast made. (Example, Poached egg hard boiled instead of runny). The room was great with fantastic sized bed but partner felt that for the price the room that it should've had a bathtub with it. Evening dinner menu was really nice. Having fresh bottled water in the room was a great little touch along with the cafetiere.
Breakfast is always fantastic, dinner excellent. Service friendly, nothing to really criticise. It is our place to stay when regularly visiting Alvediston Stud.
An18th century inn the Royal Oak situated in Swallowcliffe a hamlet 11 miles west of Salisbury Wiltshire which looks charming and inviting. However upon arrival sadly not a pleasant welcome quite insincere from the landlord (despite having pre-paid for 1 night B&B) a very disappointing start to our vacation. The Breakfast was better part of our stay - the polite and friendly young female provided good efficient service.
The setting and the interior aesthetic of the pub are perfect. Staff were so friendly, had a great chat with Chris and the bar manager (so sorry for the life of me I can’t remember his name 😩) . Dinner was amazing and breakfast the next morning was a great way to finish off our stay. The room itself was lovely, clean, tidy and the bath was the cherry on top! Would definitely like to stay here again and would recommend anyone else to.
Stayed one night traveling to Cornwall. Reception was excellent, very friendly and the gentleman took al the time needed. The room was very nice with a fine bed (although a bit small, I am 6'4' ;-) ).
Dinner was very good and the all-ladies staff did an amazing job. Fast, friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was top-notch as well. No buffet but a breakfast choice of the menu and made specially for us.
Would come again.
Lovely country pub in a beautiful peaceful village. Friendly welcoming staff. Lovely room, large, clean and really comfortable bed. Lovely pub! Lovely dinner and breakfast. Would highly recommend.
Everything about our stay at The Royal Oak was first rate. The room was spacious and well equipped. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. We had breakfast and dinner there on 2 days. The food and service were both first class. Staff were professional and friendly. We will definitely return.
