If you are happy to be a little ‘out of town’ this place is a gem. Staff are lovely. Only took 20-25mins easy drive to the lake so really was nice to be here… i am sure if i had asked for anything the staff would have provided it they were that welcoming & kind. Room was huge & really nicely furnished.
This family-run inn is quietly located on the outskirts of Schwennigen, surrounded by scenic countryside in the Upper Danube Valley. It offers a rustic-style lounge and a bistro/pizzeria.

An unusual, almost quirky design to the building itself. Being on the side of a steep slope, the ground floor on one side was the first/second floor on the other. A spiral staircase to the full height is spectacular if not a little intimidating if you go right to the top and don't like looking down. A very good continental breakfast buffet selection was provided in a pleasant wood-panelled dining room. My bedroom furnishings were an eclectic mix but ultimately functional. The bathroom appeared recently refurbished and was clean and more than adequate. All rooms appear to open out onto a balcony, mine giving a view to the village/town and countryside beyond.

Wonderfully welcoming guest house in an awesome location, outside drinks area in the afternoon, dinner in the evening, great breakfast, bike storage. Rooms are straightforward and clean. Would give it an eleven if there was one !
Checking in was a little impersonal with just a key left at the front door. But it turned out to be the perfect solution. In the past month, numerous times we have shown up somewhere prior to check-in and have had to wait. After riding a bike all day this allowed us to let ourselves in, shower and rest up before dinner.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed so can't comment on that. Lots of other places to grab something to eat.
Breakfast was great. Not sure why the negative comments. Lots of choices.
Great surroundings, very beautiful and quiet, great journey to get there through a rather large stretch of Donau valley, like a trip in a fairy tale. Very very friendly staff. Helpful and patience, even though very busy with serving in the restaurant.
The price is great for what it offers, so the rather simple room and furniture and the limited dinner menu in the restaurant are not to be mentioned compared to all other positives.
Oh, did I mention the great breakfast?
