Everything. The space was like a club house. The loft was so cool and a private terrace was so nice. It had AC and a nice bathroom. The couch and coffee table were a great addition.
Outdoor community kitchen came in clutch and was well equipped with the essentials. The rooms have a mid size personal fridge to keep your own stuff. Very nice.
The staff was so nice it was amazing. Seriously.
We had access to the beach thru the main floors restaurant. It was like being in an exclusive resort.
Parking right out front was so great.
Location was brilliant!
We also had a little sloth one night eating from the trees right outside!!

Very close to the bus station, central location. Can walk to beaches, national park, restaurants, grocery store.
Breakfast was different than in the photos but still delicious—huge bowl of fruit, juice, coffee, toast and eggs.
The apartment was simple but comfortable. Did not have extensive cooking equipment but enough to reheat or make something simple.
This place has an amazing water filtration in the communal breakfast area with ice cold water!
The hostess was super!

super great internet, patio, outdoor kitchen, lovely host who told us a lot about the area and gave us great tips where to buy food etc., spacious room, I higly recommend it.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
We couldn’t believe what a slice of paradise this place was. We could have just stayed on our porch and watched the agoutis and listened to the jungle sounds all day. The pictures don’t even do it justice. Absolutely gorgeous. And the breakfasts are out of this world and kept us full until dinner. Laurie and Wade felt like friends by the end of the week.
It was a bit confusing at the beginning but once we made contact with the host everything went very smoothly . The staff on location when we arrived didn't have any English and unfortunately we had limited Spanish but one of the girls went to the trouble of contacting a colleague by phone who had perfect English but we had reached the host at this point so all was good.
we liked that the rooms were big and clean and that the hotel had a nice inner courtyard. We also felt safe because of indoor parking that closes at 10:00 in the evening.

I really liked the atmosphere within the hotel and the staff is really, really friendly! I liked the breakfast and that there is everyday another breakfast special. The dinner is also really good and i LOVED the salad buffet. We watched two sloths in the hotel garden and it is a very safe place. The service is also amazing and i loved the terrace of our room!
The host was super nice, always there at your disposal to provide you anything you needed.
The atmosphere in the hostel was very friendly for solo travellers, the chilling area was great for integrating with other travellers,organise family dinners and socialize overall.
The rooms and the beds were very comfortable and clean. Compared to other hostels I stayed in Puerto Viejo I believe that Kalunai offers you everything you need and makes you feel like home.
Great location for one of the best beaches in Costa Rica and wonderful surroundings. The kayaks are also a must! Keep in-mind that this a jungle bungalow with no AC and surrounded by noises of all sorts of animals, so set your expectations accordingly (not for light sleepers). We had breakfast and dinners on the little patio outside in March, no issues with mosquitoes for us.
The Owners we incredibly helpful, always reachable even in the early mornings and evenings, we had new towels delivered every couple of days ect.
The location is great for cocles beach, although a car / scooter is needed!
The house is lovely, it’s rustic and really enhances the fact you are right in the jungle!
The cat shadow was definitely the nest part he is so friendly!
King size bed and located right on beach. Night entertainment. Friendly staff! Could Park car. Not a far walk to town or other beaches. Everyone was friendly. Both dinner and breakfast were good!
