GERLINDE! Gerlinde is MAGIC! Was accommodating and explained to me that I booked a room without the bathroom. And that was fine. We both had a birthday the day afterI checked in. The morning of my birthday there was a table with birthday celebration decorations waiting for me at the delicious buffet breakfast. Best breakfast of my entire week vacation in Switzerland.

It is worth staying there for the view and true experience of the mountains. The family room we had was very stylish and spacious. Everything extra clean and modern, great bathroom! It had everything we needed. The dinner and the person serving us the dinner were absolutely fantastic.

Lovely comfortable inn, well-located near the train station (though up a hill, but the owners picked us up when we arrived with luggage!); breakfast was a generous and delicious buffet; the deck in our room had breathtaking views.

Restaurant Schmitte was excellent. There had been a mix up in our reservation, but the Chef flexibly arranged for us a wonderful and charming full course dinner with paring wines. Probably one of the less recognised part of the Hotel. But for those staying we would strongly recommend a dinner there. Well worth the price (at least in Switzerland).

The rooms were clean and spacious and the view of Mount Eiger from our room and the pool was exceptional. Hotel staff were friendly. We got in just in time to eat dinner before they closed for the night and I had the most amazing meal. One of the best meals I had for my entire travels in Switzerland. They called it beef stroganoff but it reminded me more of a goulash. The pool’s temperature was perfect and not crowded. Breakfast was decent.

The hotel is a bus ride from Grindelwald Bahnhof. If you don't have heavy bags, you can walk to it. The hotel serves a delectable breakfast. It does not have a dinner restaurant, but there are plenty of eateries within walking distance. The staff is friendly. The room size is more than adequate.

The layout was unique, with the living area separated from the sleeping area by a rustic partitioned (hard to describe) wall. The bathroom was quite large and had his and hers sinks. Our balcony was also large, and located on the scenic side of the hotel. Breakfast was extensive and very good, but we didn't use the restaurant for any other meals.
