Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
We stayed in their two story rooms. They were beautiful. Big, spacious, clean. Plenty of parking. We enjoyed sitting on a lovely deck with a view and walking into the town for dinner where we sat eatting and watching the sun go down. It was easy to find and the staff were wonderful.
Having a chalet was a treat. We had been traveling for three weeks and stayed in hotels and inns. We purchased groceries and enjoyed cooking breakfast and relaxing in our own house. There are a number of chalets which are beautifully done all on the hillside overlooking Rocky Harbor and Gros Morne. A fantastic location. You need a car or bike to get down to the harbor. The owner and his wife are very attentive and helps out with everything. The chalets are beautifully designed with all amenities.
Location was in the heart of Gros Morne National Park, convenient to a lot of attractions. We had great advice for a place to have dinner. This is essentially a hostel, but we were only using it for a place to stay for one night. My understanding is that the staff leads hikes and tours - great for young people.
Well stocked kitchen facilities were nice to be able to cook our own breakfasts and dinners. They stored our extra gear for us while we were on a multiday hike. They were also able to provide car drop/shuttle service to the trailhead for a reasonable price. The staff was super knowledgeable about the area and attentive to the needs of the guests.
Location was great--walking distance to restaurant, Fisherman's Landing with its great breakfast and Anchors Away production which was very enjoyable.
The guest house was spacious and clean.
There is exceptional and then there is next level. Chris & Analia and their slice of paradise "The Fish Sheds" is next level. They greeted us on arrival full of warmth and suggestions for the area. Their recommendations were spot on too - like Black Spruce for dinner, hike Gros Morne. And the accomodations were immaculate on a beautiful bay surrounded by cliffs, so romantic. First class - all the stars possible for The Fish Sheds.
