If you want a comfortable and reasonable price place in Cowichan Bay try the Wessex Inn. It’s a bit older by well maintained. Our unit had a small kitchen and balcony - however they need to put a couple of chairs on the balcony for people to sit on. We could even see the water from our balconeu.
It was a great location amd the bed was comfortable. I had the best sleep there. The place was immaculate and I was lucky to meet the host who was a lovely lady. Such thoughtful little extras like water, chocolate, orange juice etc
She gave me recommendations for dinner in the area and was available if I needed anything. I would definitely recommend this place and I already have plans to return next year.

Fantastic location near all the Cowichan Bay amenities. We had a quiet room with a peek-a-boo view of Cowichan Bay. The beds were comfortable and the wifi was great. The staff were pleasant and accommodating.
The Inn is very dated, but it was fine for us.
The Wessex Inn is great value for the price you're paying. The building & grounds are well maintained, & the rooms are spacious & very clean. The staff were very helpful & friendly, & the location is a stones throw from the ocean. And it's always nice to find a place that welcomes your pets as well as you. Highly recommend.
The location of the property is perfect, easy to find and access.
The view into the harbour from the room is super.
The coastal path leads into the town centre with shops and restaurants.
We sat on the outside patio of the Vine restaurant for dinner, and it was very good 👍
You can literally cross the road from the property, sit in the park and watch seals swimming close to shore in the bay.
Our second stay at the Wessex Inn, very comfortable room and a beautiful view of the Bay. They installed a a/c on our second day, most appreciated as it was very hot !! Our checkout time was extended to accommodate a Zoom meeting I had to do. In all , it was a good stay. I would stay another time if I was in the area.
