Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
Our hosts were delightful! They went out of their way to make our stay as easy and as comfortable as possible. We had a great time staying there and would recommend it to anyone. The breakfasts were delicious too and the guest house itself was really lovely. Not to mention their cute little dogs!
My answers are based on the fact that we went to a remote, northern Canadian town to see the wildlife, not to have an exceptional hotel experience. The Iceberg Inn was as expected, basic, no frills, but with all the needed basics. It was located in the center of Churchill, so dining or tour operators were an easy walk. Bill & his wife are very nice, and gave us good advise on activities.
The hosts were the best ever. We felt like we were leaving friends behind when we left. Lynn and Gord went out of their way to give us rides when needed and even cooked us dinner when all the restaurants were closed.
located in the centre of Churchill town. The hotel itself is very cosy and warm. staff are friendly and knowledgeable and were quite accommodating of our checkin times. The hotel can also arrange the Churchill town and sites tour on request. breakfast is complimentary, but you have to go out for lunch and dinner.
The location is close to the train station and you can arrange for them to pick you up with your bags. The restaurant is both good and reasonably priced for dinner, compared to others in town so even if you are staying somewhere else in town it's worth a visit. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, and flexible with our early arrival. They asked if we needed suggestions for tours and I'm sure would have been happy to assist in that if we'd needed it. They also provided excellent communication prior to our arrival.
owner was very friendly and helpful. He got us hooked up with Bluesky mush.com for northern lights viewing and a ice dog sled ride. Jennifer and Gerald were great. Bill the owner of the motel gave us a lot of local information and the inside of the Inn had many interesting and historical items. Very good visit for a cold February
