Location and the old alpine building were great. But the best of all were the wonderful staff. We arrived late (after 2100 when the kitchens closed) because of a tyre blow out. We contacted the gasthaus to inform them a couple of hours before and asked if we could still eat and they said no problem. When we arrived all the other people in the restaurant were leaving but they prepared our food. We freshened up for 10 mins after our long road trip from Croatia and went to eat. They could not be more accommodating and served us 4 delicious wiener schnitzels and superb local draft beer. We had 3 beers in the end and it was not a problem at all for them. Breakfast in the morning was good too and they kept asking us if we wanted more. A wonderful place. Highly recommended.

Being only a few minutes from a major highway makes it ideal for stays overnight while traveling. It's located in which seems to be the town center of Haag am Hausruck, a bank and other businesses are nearby. Nonetheless the night was very quiet, there's not much traffic during nighttime. Parking is free and right out front, alongside the road. Even though I arrived somewhat late at night, not only was checking in no hassle at all, but I was also still able to get dinner. The staff went out of their way to assist me with additional requests, which I am extremely thankful for. The breakfast was not only delicious but also plenty.
The room seemed to have been renovated recently with attention to detail and was cozy and clean. Wood flooring, modern items like the bowl-shaped sink with an angled tap and stonewall-themed wallpaper in parts of the room made the room appear modern. The bed was very comfortable and blackout curtains were available as well. There was no separate bathroom, but sink, toilet and shower were creatively and nicely integrated into the room/separated from the room and clean. The room wasn't exceptionally big, but big enough.

Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
Great place in quite peaceful village. The rooms were clean and nice. I enjoyed very much my stay at Gasthaust Schachinger. I had also the dinner at the restaurant and the food was absolutely great and very tasty. The staff and owner there are very friendly and helpful. I just regret that I couldn't stay there longer.
Very quiet location, but close to motorway, perfect for transit through Austria. Room was clean and large with view across the countryside.
We didn't try the dinner at the restaurant but the breakfast was very good, especially we enjoyed freshly prepared scrambled eggs which were absolutely delicious.
Bonus points for having EV charger available at Hotel parking which costs €20 per charging session.
