Leslie and John Nevison, Directors of MTT Safaris, have lived overseas for 34 years in 13 countries, of which six have been on the African continent. They made Zambia their home and business base in 2014. Leslie has been in the safari business since 2005.

Mama Tembo Cheza (MT Cheza) is Lusaka, Zambia-based MTT Safaris’ two, private guest cottages on the company’s peaceful five acre plot in East Lusaka. Both cottages are uniquely furnished and showcase original African artists. Each has outdoor garden space which attracts birds and excellent for bird watching. Each has a fully equipped kitchen for self-caterers. Cheza 01 cottage has one bedroom and is suitable for solo travellers and couples. Cheza 02 cottage has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a ¾ bed. It is ideal for two friends who prefer their own space or for parents traveling with a young adolescent. The Chezas are not suitable for very young children. Both cottages have one bathroom. Both cottages have desks and local WIFI routers. There are no televisions but the connection in our indigenous forest is nevertheless excellent! Your Zambia safari begins at Lusaka international airport. We provide the airport transfers because we take the farm roads to MT Cheza, a 40 minute drive, and the route is unpaved. Airport transfers are available 24/7. If you are seeking an accommodation experience other than a hotel, then MT Cheza is perfect either at the beginning or at the end of Zambian travels. The owner has dogs on plot which are secured behind a fence. Guests are not permitted to bring their own pets.

The Leopards Hill neighbourhood is home to Lusaka National Park, Game Ranger International’s Elephant Orphanage and Wildlife Discovery Centre as well as the Lusaka Collective, which showcases excellent Zambian handicrafts. All are a 15 minute drive from MT Cheza. The guest houses' immediate area is excellent for self walking and birding. Longer guided walks can be arranged in the nearby Forest Reserve #27.
