We are around the corner from the Hub of Melville where all the trendy restaurants and bars are located. In close proximity, approximately 15 minutes walk away are supermarkets and fast food stores, chemists, hardware, Universities, shopping malls and some excellent second hand book stores. The cottage has an entirely separate entrance which has lovely views from the balcony across the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. It is fully furnished and equipped, including full DSTV service. There is safe off-road parking on the property for one additional car. Kindly note that there is a R1000 cash breakages/security deposit payable to us upon arrival as this is not taken with your upfront payment when making the booking. Should you elect to pay this deposit by Credit/Debit card it will attract an additional fee of R30,00. This deposit is refundable within 7 days after your departure, and the property is checked before the next guest's arrival.

My husband and I are well travelled hosts, who enjoy meeting people and visiting other countries and learning about their culture. We speak English, German and a little Spanish. We live on the property and are available to interact with guests at most times. We respect your privacy and ask the same of our guests. We would love to get to know more about each guest, so please feel free to interact with us as much as you wish to. We are pro-active in sorting out problems as quickly as possible, but naturally cannot do so on public holidays and weekends when independent contractors are not always available at the drop of a hat. We are able to fix most problems ourselves within a 24-hour time period.

Because we live so close to all the restaurants, the neighbourhood has a vibey and cosmopolitan feel to it, and is usually quite busy on Friday and Saturday evenings. Both young and old enjoy going to the restaurants and pubs. It is safe to walk about freely to do your shopping and attend to personal things such as visits to the hairdresser, beauty salon or a barber. There are Tuk Tuks to make use of to get to the bigger shopping malls, or a local taxi at a reasonable cost can take you there. Most things are within walking distance of the property and do not necessarily require the use of an Uber or taxi to get around.
