This property was awarded a traveller review award for 2025! This truly inspiring and breathtaking apartment on Strand beach front, really is something special. Step inside this absolutely one of a kind 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment set on the 3rd floor of the infamous Hibernian Towers. Offering hotel styled living with on-site amenities such as a heated pool area with steam-room, gym, day spa, restaurant & coffee shop, convenience store, hairdresser and the like. When arriving at this private residence you are welcomed into an open plan living space, comprising of an air conditioned living area. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with modern amenities such as a dishwasher, oven and glass hob rounded off with granite tops, an expansive breakfast nook ideally keeping you in touch with the stunning ocean views. Taking you through the lounge area you are drawn to the most beautiful ocean views where you can also appreciate an outdoor lounging balcony with gas braai/barbeque facilities. The property sleeps 2 adult guests and one child aged 10 to 17 years of age - 1 bedroom with built in cupboards, includes a private balcony overlooking the golden mile beach with the most awesome sunsets. There is a double sleeper couch that folds into a double bed in the lounge area. A full bathroom - bathtub and shower. The unit has a dedicated secure parking bay, and the building is manned by 24hr security. A resort town on the eastern shore of False Bay with a beautiful, white 5km long beach, Strand is an ideal family stop for swimming, sunbathing and beach activities. A promenade featuring a mix of restaurants, cafés and shops follows the shoreline. The main beach, Melkbaai is reputedly one of the safest bathing areas in the country. Cape Town Strand neighborhood lies on the edge of False Bay, at the foot of the Hottentots Holland Mountains. This makes it a nature lovers paradise, with an abundance of both water and mountain activities. The main beach is Melkbaai Beach, a 5km beach known as one of the best and safest bathing areas in South Africa.
The Strand has great views of the Cape Peninsula and fine beaches. During the summer visitors flock to the area and this tourism is the principal source of local income. This has been the case since at least 1950. Even in those days the town was popular with visitors from the north. There is a train service from Strand to the CBD of Cape Town. The great coastal road that makes its way up the eastern seaboard of the Cape rises into the coastal ranges from near Strand.
The main beach in the Strand, Melkbaai Beach, is known to be one of the best and safest swimming areas in the country.
Activities include Dune Park with a super tube and mini-golf and Harmony Park which boasts a huge tidal pool. Water sports may be conducted from various points along the beachfront.
For the sporting enthusiast Strand offers a wide variety of organised sport including a golf course capable of hosting international events, tennis courts, rugby fields, squash clubs, jukskei, and water sports like surfing, sailing, power boating, paddle skiing and board sailing. The Pipe is a part of the beach marked off for surfers and is known for its big, "surfable" waves.
Strand also boasts an Olympic-sized, covered, centrally heated swimming pool which is open all year round.
The coast between the Lourens River mouth and up to Rooi Els is very popular with beach fishermen and rock anglers, whilst organised and social diving activities beckon the more adventurous.
