Christine Curnow & business partner started Chestnut Country Lodge in Sept 1995. We left the city life for the Lowveld to enjoy nature and wildlife. We found an old farmhouse in the farming district of Kiepersol. The magnificent views, bird-life and peaceful surroundings as well as the location were perfect. We converted the existing buildings into suites and rooms. The past 18 years we have been rewarded with amazing guests, some who return again and again to enjoy with us our little piece of paradise. The tourism industry took a massive knock due to the pandemic and we went under new management and the experience of change and growth has been amazing , we are expecting plenty of new exciting upgrades and growth and we are looking forward to sharing this with our guests

Chestnut Country Lodge is perfectly situated with breathtaking views of mountains that will leave you in sheer awe. One of the many things that can be enjoyed at Chestnut Country Lodge is bird watching. There are a variety of birds that feed nearby. One bird in particular is the Brown-hooded Kingfisher, who can also be caught bathing in the garden birdbath. We have a dining area and do offer dinner on request and confirmation , our menu is a SET menu and is made with so much love and locally sourced products Our meals are super hearty and the wonderful chefs think of new set menus for the night each morning. We are situated in a convenient area where we can arrange all sorts of fun and informative experience activities like safaris and adventure excursions like river rafting and hiking and so much more ! Our great location is perfect for Panorama day trips , we can provide all the information and maps needed and personal advice on where , what and when is the best for your experience, making it memorable ! All of these activities are best guarantied when booked and requested in advance We have a full English breakfast available and can with pleasure ensure that if you are booked for early morning safaris which depart at 04h45 AM! you will receive a breakfast pack , packed with just the right kind of goodies to get you started on your day in the Kruger National Park ! Our morning buffet during breakfast has everything needed to jump start your apatite for your preordered hot breakfast , options for a full English possible !
