La Barunè Game lodge is a magnificent piece of tranquil paradise, situated on a 2 100-hectare private Nature Reserve in the malaria free Waterberg mountains, and is 220 km`s from OR Tambo Airport, under 2-hours’ drive from Pretoria and only 8 km’s from Vaalwater. This exclusive lodge offers 4 en-suite bedrooms with Wi-Fi and internet, a large patio with an indoor built-in braai and fireplace perfect for the rainy days and spectacular views over a private dam surrounded by a lush, beautiful large garden area as well as a boma and braai area for glorious barbeques under the stars! There is a private swimming pool and pond in the large garden, where the game come to drink water as well as a communal swimming pool. Luzern tablets are provided to feed the Zebras, kudu and bushbucks by hand from the patio. Guests have access to the total reserve which includes more than 60 km of roads for private game drives, hiking, cycling, 4×4 Trail, tennis (tennis courts on the reserve), fishing with a vast array of species of fish and bird watching amongst many other activities. You will be spoiled by an array of magnificent wildlife. The Nature Reserve includes Herbivore animals such as Zebra, Blue wildebeest, Impala, Kudu, Giraffe, Duiker, Warthog, Eland and Waterbucks as well as common Black backed Jackal, Caracal, Honey badger, spotted Genet, civet cat, and banded mongoose. Besides the magnificent choice of game to be seen on the reserve, there is a Big 5 Game reserve just 36km outside Vaalwater, that offers game drives as well. All the animals on the farm are tame as no hunting is allowed, but there are various hunting opportunities in the area for those who are interested in this activity.
