Sani Pass is a must to visit while in Himeville with spectacular views . Passports are required as you go into Lesotho and can have lunch at the highest Pub in Africa. The distance from Arbuckle House is 20 Kms to the South African Border post and 14 of those Kms are tarred. -- Tours can be arranged and guests collected and brought back to Arbuckle House. - Glencairn is also in close proximity for the start of the Sani 2C ride. The Himeville Arms Hotel is just 500 meters away and guests find it convenient to walk there in the evenings for a meal or listen to live music on a Friday night. - The Himeville Museum is opposite the Himeville Hotel and is considered one of the best rural Museums. The Himeville Nature Reserve is just 1 Km away where there are two dams and you can view Blesbok which are more often than not, close to the road and guests enjoy stopping their vehicle to watch and take photos of them. Right opposite the gate of Arbuckle House is the Amur Falcon roost where thousands of falcons arrive towards the end of the year and stay for approximately 3 months. In the evenings it is a magical sight to see them circle in the sky before settling for the night in the tall gum trees. There are Hiking trails from Cobham 13Kms away. There is also a river where you can go swimming. The Parks Board Hut at the entrance can give you information about Bushman paintings and give you maps of the area describing the length of the hikes etc. 5Kms away is Underberg where there are three restaurants and a KFC! There is also a Super Spar. Moorcroft Manor 2.5Kms has an upkarket restaurant. This area is really an outdoor paradise for fishing, hiking, horse riding (which Arbuckle House can arrange) canoeing, tubing and even making snowmen in winter!!
