Set on 146 acres of tropical gardens and sandy beaches, this resort offers a day spa, live entertainment, kava tasting and island roasts. The Indonesian-style villas were built from 200-year-old teak wood and offer a private patio with garden and sea views. Ratua Private Island is a 30-minute boat trip from the mainland to the Ratua Private Island jetty or a 1-hour flight from Port-Vila. A private 2297 foot air-strip is located on-site. Guest enjoy free use of snorkeling gear, bicycles and canoes. Set over the water, the Sunny Spa offers treatments using organic products. Relax with a cocktail at the Yacht Club which serves dishes using local produce and offers a games room. The property also features a ranch with more than 16 horses, and guests can enjoy horse rides and swimming with horses. All villas feature rustic décor and have a refrigerator, wardrobe and an private bathroom with bathrobes, toiletries and towels provided. Free WiFi is provided at the Yacht Club. Your stay at Ratua Private Island Vanuatu will directly contribute to the Ratua Foundation, which provides aid for the education of the surrounding communities’ children. Is your private beach next to the property or do I need to use a means of transportation to go there?
All beachfront front villas have their own private beach. The main beach/swimming area, which is at the front of the resort, is approximately 3-minute walk from the West Village and around 10 minutes if guests are staying at the South Village. The Fish Village literally sits in between the main beach and the sandbar. Please know that Ratua Island is a 60-hectare private island approximately 10 nautical miles South of Espritu Santo, the largest island of Vanuatu. It nestles between the larger islands of Aore at its North and Malo down South. With its location, Ratua is blessed with calm waters in front of the resort all throughout the year with the exception of the occasional odd weather. The short answer would be, year round. This because climate in Vanuatu can be described as tropical/sub-tropical. This means that its one of the sunny parts of the world with panoramic blue skies, cotton-like clouds and warm weather. However, dark clouds, nice light showers and the 80-88% humidity that follow are not too far away, but part of the tropical charm is the weather changeover which in most cases is magnificent. Considering Vanuatu’s climate is influenced by trade winds, it’s normally hot, a bit wet and humid from December to March with an average temperature of 28˚C while April to November would be cooler and drier with a temperature that slightly drops to an average of 23˚C. No. This island resort was conceived with careful thought of its surroundings. Entwined with the island and its environment are traditional 200-year old buildings originally built in scattered areas of Java and Sumatra where these were cautiously dismantled and rebuilt on the island to come up with ingenious villas that is now guests' humble abode. The mission was to offer an authentic Indo-Pacific experience whereby travelers get to relive the uncomplicated lifestyle of the olden days. Return transfers to/from Ratua Island Resort & Spa from Pekoa International Airport in Luganville, Espiritu Santo is via van and speed boat cost, which costs Vt 5,000 per adult and Vt 3,000 per child (5-11 years old).
There is a compulsory meal plan charge of Vt 13,000 per adult, per day and Vt 7,500 per child, per day (5-11 years old). Children 4 years and under are free of charge for the return transfers and meal plan.
Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
