They look old and worn, with the scent of memories, yellowed paper, and old bilingual writing in French before and after the war, famine, and heartfelt sentiments for surviving relatives after the journey across the sea... I have translated them into English. I like to think of it as a family treasure, and I don't know if any history museum would want them, so they are currently in the hallway of my house if you're interested.
