Nui Tuong Organization (formerly Nui Tuong Education Project) was founded in 2016 by Ms Le Thi Hang, a Dong Nai native who was determined to promote the learning and development of local children. After graduating university as an English major, she returned to her hometown to open free English classes with the support of her younger sister, Ms Le Thi Hau, and a few friends. Children in Nui Tuong, a remote commune in Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province, have very few opportunities to learn English and life skills in a structured, effective manner. Therefore, our classes on English, music, arts, IT, social skills, etc. (one of which is pictured below) have attracted a large number of students. Lessons on ethics, lifestyle and willpower are interwoven into the classes, encouraging them to improve themselves, dare to dream and do their best to pursue those dreams. These positive beliefs have helped them overcome their insecurities, passive mindsets, video game addiction, and most importantly, psychological traumas resulting from the dysfunctional nature of their families, an issue that is becoming more and more common in modern rural societies.
