Welcome to Virginia Cliffe Inn, the home my parents built and where I grew up as a child! My name is Janice Clifton and I enjoy sharing my family home and meeting guests from all over the world. I love continuing the tradition of serving hearty breakfast dishes my mother made! I also encourage our guests to stroll through the gardens and visit the pond with our dear swans, Romeo and Juliette!

The Clifton's purchased the property in the 1950's and lived in the original farmhouse for 20 years. In the early 1970's they tore down the house and built Virginia Cliffe Inn, recycling the heart pine, bricks, and other materials from the original house. Virginia Cliffe Inn was the first Bed and Breakfast in Henrico County and opened on January 1, 1998. Shortly after opening their home, the Clifton's began hosting outdoor weddings and special events on the property.

Virginia Cliffe Inn is nestled among six acres in a semi-suburban neighborhood, located about 20 minutes north of the City of Richmond. The Bed and Breakfast has plenty of parking space and is about five minutes from the I-295 and I-95 interstate junction. The Cultural Arts Center is a comfortable walking distance and offers displays open to the public. Crump Park is about a mile down the road and has historic landmarks and descriptions displayed as well as pavilions, a playground, and a pond for fishing. Countless restaurant’s, wineries, breweries, historic landmarks, and entertainment venues are within driving minutes of our location. Several museums, including the Science Museum and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA), are in the City of Richmond which is about a 20-minute drive from our location.
