|| SHARED MAIN ENTRY || The guest suite has no separate entrance. It belongs to a combined second- and third-story townhouse unit. Nonetheless, you have the complete 3rd floor to yourself. Most guests find this provides good privacy. To enter, you pass through the host's second-story living room and then take another flight of stairs. Still, we rarely are in the living room, and we minimize incidental contact. An insulating curtain hangs at the foot of the stairs to the upper floor. All rooms in the guest suite have solid doors. || ENVIRONMENT || Bright sunlight and lush greenery creates a relaxing urban escape in this bustling part of the city's East Side. One block to Hope Street restaurants, gift shops, artisan bakery, CVS, bank, public library, zip car pickup, and city bus. Walk to farmer's market, work out at the Y, or walk/jog/bike along Blackstone Blvd. Moon-lit bedroom, cozy table for coffee, and a comfy reading nook surrounded by tropical plants. Comfortably sleeps two in a queen-sized bed and one more on full-sized sofa bed. Sun-light windows in every room. || FOOD PREP AND LIVING SPACE || While there is no full kitchen (w/ stove/sink), the living area provides everything you need to relax and be at home: microwave, refrigerator, coffee makers. A selection of teas and ways to make coffee (Keurig, French press, traditional pour-over). Enjoy morning coffee in your own botanic garden without stepping outside! Have a glass of wine in the moonshine under the skylight! Watch wisps of steam rising from your tea by the bay window and enjoy quiet time at home. || USE OF PULL-OUT SOFA || We ask that you not sleep directly on the couch. So, If you need the extra bed, EVEN IF YOU ARE A PARTY OF TWO, book the reservation for 3 guests (a nightly rate increase of 20%). We provide bedding for the fold-down futon bed in the open area. My wife and I both work in education. Ever since we made Providence our home 16 years ago, we truly enjoy what this tiny state has to offer: its proximity to New York and Boston, its beautiful lagoons and beaches, its famous tourist destinations, as well as the familiar quiet and comfort of a small town. We love traveling and enjoyed staying in vacation rentals on trips, both here and abroad. Now, we want to extend our warm welcome to you and hope you will love this home away from your home. We live in the second-floor apartment. We are a phone call or text message away. Please share with us ahead of time plans you have to invite unregistered guests, and do not share the entry code unless you have shared those plans with us and we approve.

We are located in Mount Hope, a residential neighborhood of larger, older homes just north of College Hill and convenient to everything in Providence. The neighborhood has an active business district with a variety of restaurants (Bakery, Italian, Asian, Indian, American, Breakfast), shops (toys, gifts, boutiques, antiques, etc) and services (CVS, banks, salons, tavern, florist). It's quiet at night, yet you can find several side-walk restaurants in less than five minutes. Nearby College Hill features Brown University, RISD, art and cultural sights, historic homes, and well-known Thayer Street. Brown and RISD are 1.5 miles away. Many locals enjoy walking to the campuses and Thayer St. for dinner and events. Downtown is 1.5 miles West, with the train station, State house, shopping, more restaurants, Waterplace Park, Providence Place, the "Superman Building", ice skating, etc. Wayland Square and Blackstone Park are both 1.5 miles East. Wickenden St. & Fox Point is 1.5 miles South. Pawtucket is 1.5 miles North.
