The area surrounding Carolina Beach has many attractions and activities. The fantastic North Carolina aquarium minutes away. Fort Fisher, the last Confederate fort to fall in the Civil War, is across the street from the aquarium. The USS North Carolina Battleship, museums, and many more destinations are in Wilmington. The Boardwalk at Carolina Beach has restaurants, shops, arcades, putt putt, and other activities. In the summer there is an amusement park open at the Boardwalk area complete with rides and kid friendly activities. There are exceptional golfing opportunities nearby with over 20 golf courses, some of championship caliber and national acclaim.

Here is a couple FAQ's Yes! A proper 4 wheel drive vehicle is required to access the house. You must air down your tires to 18 to 20 psi at the marked air down station prior to beach on ramp. The air up and air down stations can be easily missed, so be sure to look for them carefully. Once you reach the beach access ramp, there is no stopping or turning around allowed. If you do not air down your tires, you have a good chance of getting stuck. It is not recommended to use an all wheel drive vehicle. What are some fun things to do? Here is a list of some fun activities to do: Drive and park on the beach! This is our absolute favorite! Explore the 4x4 beach. Take a relaxing drive up and down the beach. You can also explore side streets and see the wild horses. Go Kayaking right from the private dock at the Salty Seahorse Go fishing from the private dock or take your boat out into the sound. There is so much wildlife to see. Go into town, there are many places to eat and drink after exiting the 4x4 beach. Most restaurants offer amazing seafood and ribs. See the Corolla lighthouse. It is an amazing sight to see from the outside, but even more amazing when you make it to the top! It is a challenging climb, but well worth it! Visit the gift shops and local art shops What should items should I bring? Here is a small list of items you should plan to bring with you: Air gauge for tires Toiletries Food (including condiments salt, pepper, ranch, ketchup, etc) Water (All of the houses on the 4x4 beach are on well water. It is recommended to bring water for drinking and cooking. Typically six 5 gallon water jugs will last the week. Laundry detergent Are you pet friendly? Yes! We do ask that your dogs are well behaved and potty trained. We charge a pet fee (non refundable) per dog. There is an outdoor doggy wash and fully fenced in yard for them to play. You are responsible for picking up after your dog. If dog poop is left outside.
