FAQs about hotels in Indianapolis

The Crossroads of the USA

Indianapolis is known as the Crossroads of America and it certainly provides a cross-section of US life. Practically every music genre and cuisine are covered, as are all the classic American sports.

The city has earned international famed through the Indianapolis 500, the highlight of the IndyCar racing season held at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The track also hosts the NASCAR Brickyard 400, while the Indiana capital’s NFL team wow the crowds at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The city also has a rich cultural offering with museums covering everything from the Civil War to contemporary art. At the world’s largest Children’s Museum dinosaurs can be seen trying to make their escape. Perhaps they’re heading for the White River, whose peaceful banks are lined with several parks and Indianapolis Zoo, opposite the restaurants and entertainment venues of the vibrant Downtown.

The Central Canal overlooks the skyscrapers which now eclipse The Soldiers and Sailors Monument, once the tallest building. To the north is the Indiana War Memorial, while west is the State Capitol, a block from the Indianapolis Convention Center. Across the street is Circle Center Mall, just one Indy shopping option.

The accommodation on Booking.com ranges from city centre hotels with pools to cheap motels by Indianapolis Airport and on the interstates circling this cosmopolitan city.

The room was adequate but the floors were dirty and there were cobwebs all over in the room. Our room was near the breakfast area and the workers were soooooo loud and woke me up at 5 am. They need to keep that in mind when preparing the breakfast that not everyone is awake yet.

I would say that Indianapolis is not terrible, however there are much better places throughout the state. The super conceded can have fishers, Carmel, the outlaying suburbs, marion County in general looks pretty rough with lots of petty crime. My advice is if you must land at the Indy international Airport get out of that area quickly. 45 miles in any direction and things become much better. Driving in metro Indy is always a complete nightmare because construction 🚧 has been going on everywhere there for 25 years.

I think Indianapolis has a lot to offer to tourists, My only complaint is that the roads need to be fixed. But next to Indianapolis Carmel has beautiful roads, also great farms to visit around and plenty of parks with free concerts, The Holliday Park is an amazing place

It’s a good option for a family weekend. The downtown is clean and we had a great time walking around the city and enjoying the canal. Renting the paddle boat was the highlight of the day! We also went up the monument and checked out the views. There are several museums and a lot of dining options. We felt safe and comfortable walking around.

Well Indianapolis itself I wasn't a fan of but the town we stayed in Speedway absolutely loved the down area from the coffee shop Founders where the staff are owners were very nice and they craft their own drinks and serve them as flights to try them all. Had brunch the next day Le Peep which was down the block from Founders. Ate Dinner at Big Woods where food and drinks were phenomenal all this right down the block from where Indy 500 happens. I would definitely go back to Speedway for all those places and maybe even check some of the town bars.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with comfortable clean rooms. Breakfast was adequate though not much of varieties were there. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. A Mexican restaurant on the yard is a good add. Free shuttle to the airport was a big relief. Liked being here and shall come again.

Near to the downtown centre. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast variety. The parking is a bit expensive, but anywhere in Indianapolis near to the centre. At top there is a pool and they providing towels for it, which was nice.
