Blythe Shoals Basecamp
You could not have picked a location that was so convenient to many of the upstate’s most incredible outdoor destinations. Our goal is to ensure that your stay with us will exceed all your expectations. Our Creekside Cabin is a mix of off grid camping and mixing in all the comforts of home. Our property is 22 acres, feel free to explore. Be aware that there are many full-time residences that surround our property so let's respect their privacy and observe the quiet time. This property has gone through many transformations in its history. There has been a full-service gas station and a produce stand on the same spot the current metal building is situated. There is an active cell tower at the top of the property, this site was selected because it is one of the highest points along the Geer Hwy. We are now in the process of transforming this awesome location into a base of operations for our guests. Whether you just want to relax and recharge, or your goals are to conquer all that the Upstate of SC has to offer, Blythe Shoals Base Camp is going to be your go to choice for accommodations. We are so excited that you have chosen our Creekside Cabin to be your home away from home.
Welcome to Blythe Shoals Base Camp. We are so excited to share our property with our guests. We try to make your visit as private and memorable as possible. Let us know if you need any insight into the area, we will gladly share our knowledge with you. Karen grew up in Travelers Rest and Keith has lived in the Greenville/Travelers Rest area for 25 years. We enjoy spending time in the outdoors hiking, biking, fishing and camping. There is so much to offer in the area, whether you are visiting to relax or pack in as many adventures as possible, there is something here for everyone.
100 yards-Our property across Lawton Road borders the Naturaland Trust Property (175 ac). Feel free to explore this for day use purposes. There is a lake on the property (Holiday Lake) and there are trails and fishing. 500ft - 2 mi The South Saluda River is across the highway as is stocked regularly with rainbow trout. Check DNR webpage for stocking schedules and to purchase a license. 1 mi Tall Pines Recreation area with fishing, hiking and hunting. 1.5 mi Wildcat Falls - a popular, low impact loop trail for hiking. 6 mi Pleasant Ridge Park offers hiking and fishing, there is a 5.8mile single track mountain bike trail (JFA Trail). 7 mi Jones Gap State Park (Part of the Mountain Bridge Wilderness area) One of the best hiking areas around with many trails. **Please be aware that during certain times of the year you will be required to reserve a time online to gain access, as there is limited parking. 7 mi Spinx Gas Station 9 mi Table Rock State Park with hiking, swimming, fishing, picnicking 9.6 mi Ceasars Head State Park with bird watching, picnicking and incredible views. 11 mi Raven Cliffs Trail Head. (part of Mountain Bridge Wilderness area) Hiking-this connects some trails off the backside of the parking lot to Jones Gap trail system. 11 mi Ingles Supermarket 11 mi Northern Trail Head for the Swamp Rabbit Trail is right past the Ingles Supermarket on the right. The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 22-mile paved biking, running. Best Practice- This is an old railroad bed conversion, there is a slight downhill grade running from Travelers Rest into downtown Greenville. I always prefer to start going uphill from Greenville to Travelers Rest and downhill back to Greenville on the return. Parking is available at different points along the trail. 12 mi Prisma Health walk in and emergency care. 12 mi City of Travelers Rest with adorable shopping, restaurants, and breweries. 13 mi Cherokee Valley Golf Club for Golfing. 18 mi Pretty Place-Fred W Symms Chapel.
